AH: excellent comments on the ibm sw business.
I agree that it looks like ibm might only see
a small glitch if any due to y2k. I think the
market fails to really grasp the points you made.
Maybe they do since the pure s/w firms were hit
really hard and we only fell a bit under the
support we had in low 120's.

Speaking of ibm s/w, for the first time today
i saw a 4-5 full pg spread in the san jose
mercury of some pretty cool ads for ibm s/w.
Could be that we're finally getting marketing
savvy for s/w after all these years. This
campaign does not look like the sort of thing
you'd pour big $$ into when your sales are
hitting an air pocket!

As usual my timing was poor. I had taken a bit
of profit in my 401k and moved back into the
stock at 125 after we held there. Hard not to
believe we've gotten oversold at this point.
I'd be nice if i'd waited another week or 2
before getting the itchy trigger finger to
jump back in!

I'm hoping we can hit new highs after the numbers
are good and the y2k scared money rushes back in.
just my wishes - i don't have any insight into
what the actual numbers will be. Just my gut
feeling that the mkt is in over-react mode fairly
bigtime now.
