It's probably a healthy thing that some less than glowing research is coming out. It might lead to NITE mgmt being a little more clear in defending their position and in providing guidance. It didn't seem to make a difference when all of the research was positively slanted. As far as the stock price goes, the analysts have shown themselves to be superfluous.

I wouldn't characterize going into a quarterly earnings report with a $0.23 to $0.40 spread as ideal. A bunch of analysts are going to end up looking stupid one way or the other and they probably won't appreciate it.

Interesting: if this is true (that NITE does not need the top 10% of stocks in order to make a profit) then the problem with small cap performance this year must have hurt them: most business lately has been in the large caps, and only a few of them....perhaps next year will be better, who knows.
