I think that I heard the same thing too, (that spot prices
are declining). CNBC quoted an analyst who said the spot
price backed down to $14. Recently, the spot price was $20
and the contract average was only $10. This $10 gap cannot
be sustained, and will shrink. The newest confusion in the
DRAM market is caused by the fact that several
manufacturers have started to make Rambus DRAMs. Now,
neither INTC's nor AMD's chips can use Rambus DRAMs.
