Starbucks Reports September Revenues and Record Fiscal 1999 Revenues of $1.7 Billion

SEATTLE--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Oct. 7, 1999--Starbucks Corporation (Nasdaq:SBUX) today reported consolidated net revenues of $210 million for the six-week period ended October 3, 1999, an increase of 41 percent from consolidated net revenues of $149 million for September of fiscal 1998, which was a five-week period. On a comparable store sales basis (stores open for at least 13 months), sales at company-operated stores increased 8 percent for the five weeks ended September 26, 1999 as compared to the same five-week period in fiscal 1998.

For the 53 weeks ended October 3, 1999, consolidated net revenues were $1.7 billion, an increase of 28 percent from consolidated net revenues of $1.3 billion for the 52-week period in fiscal 1998. Comparable store sales increased 6 percent for the 52-week period ended September 26, 1999, as compared to the same 52-week period in fiscal 1998.
