throw in a bear market (maybe) and you have a cut in p/e's across the board (maybe) ....since such a thing hasn't been done in the current memory of wall street, which as you know, has no memory.

You could be right. This is a savage market. Take another look at the BMCS thread, where there is now discussion of structural shifts accelerating. One would think that this was a dramatic revenue shortfall; in fact, it was relatively minor.
