Cactus Jack's Sales Begin
TAUNTON, Mass., Oct. 14 /PRNewswire/ -- National Boston Medical, Inc. (OTC Bulletin Board: NBMX - news) announced today that an infomercial for Cactus Jack's One-Shot Cleaning Products was launched in October and is experiencing very strong consumer response. First appearing on QVC in April 1995, Cactus Jack's One-Shot Cleaning Products continue to be one of the cable shopping networks most successful products with over 5 million units sold. Based on the product's success and after extensive market research and media testing, NBM expects sales for the Cactus Jack line to add significantly to the Company's revenues and profits.

In September 1999, National Boston Medical, Inc. announced the signing of ''Cactus Jack'' Barringer to an exclusive marketing and distribution agreement for all current and future products. The Cactus Jack line is a patented process of 'Tabletizing' products that remove the non-essential water and fillers, thereby reducing the cost of packaging and shipping and providing the consumer with significant savings when compared to conventional cleaning products. Cactus Jack continues to utilize this innovative technology to develop and launch new products on a regular basis, including One-Shot Laundry Vitamin, One-Shot Plant Food, One-Shot Car Wash and Wax System, and One-Shot Catch-a-Lot Fishing Lure.

Daniel Hoyng, CEO and Chairman of National Boston Medical states, ''The successful debut of our Cactus Jack line is part of our strategic plan to become one of the leading Direct-to-Retail companies in the United States this fiscal year. Our shareholders will enjoy continued growth of revenue and profit. Market studies show a very high conversion rate of consumers who try One-Shot products and because of their satisfaction, place repetitive orders, thus creating a strong base of repeat revenue from a single infomercial.'' Revenue from Cactus Jack One-Shot Cleaner sales is expected to exceed $2 million this quarter and exceed $10 million by the close of the fiscal year (June 30, 2000).

National Boston Medical, Inc. presently operates two divisions. The Bontempi Instruments Plus Division features medical, dental and veterinary surgical instruments that are sold through distributors throughout the United States, and the recently renamed Infotopia Division (formerly Flex Marketing) which focuses on marketing products through direct response advertising to retail distribution and is presently promoting the highly successful Backstroke® Back Massager.

Joe, I ordered a BackStroke Massager from an infomercial in the middle of July. When, I still had not received my order as of the middle of October I called the 800 number where I had placed my order. But the number was no longer in service. After a little sleuthing on the web I discovered the connection between BackStroke and National Boston. I also discovered that my credit card in July had been billed by National Boston for the product two days after I ordered. Despite repeated calls to National Boston I was never able to talk to customer service. At the advice of my credit card company, when I requested that they reverse the charge for the BackStroke, I Faxed to National Boston an explanation of the situation and a cancellation of my order (and also sent a cc copy to my credit card company). As a result, my credit card company has temporarily removed from my account the BackStroke charge. None of this would have happened had National Boston simply waited until the product was shipped to bill me, which is the standard commercial practice.
