Neocon, many times here on "feelies" the disagreements have become extreme. I think that E's sense of conviction that Reagan was an empty suit during his presidency is so strong that she is intellectually at a loss to understand what appears obvious to her. I am confident that she did not intend any personal insult, just utter bemusement anyone could support him.

Did E actually make out that Reagan's supporters were jerks for supporting Reagan? I thought I read all the posts, and I sure missed that one. Replay it for me, will you?

Well- I won't argue about it; it's a waste of time. I just don't see that E. called anyone a jerk. I tend not to read stuff into posts though-it's too easy to get it wrong. But you know what? Even were I to see that as a possibility, I don't accept the idea of "mitigating factors" excusing Z's (or anyone's)truly bad behavior. It would be nice if we ALL allowed for mitigating factors,don't you think? But I would say Z. didn't even consider the possibility. He just enjoyed what he saw as an excuse to be nasty and he went at it with evident relish.
