my guess is they wont be box makers because they are victims of the fiasco. it's most likely Intel has to compensate RDRAM makers for the losses. Intel may just let RDRAM makers keep the bribes for nothing.

Joan, I heard the same news, (that mfrs. are stopping wafer
starts on RDRAMs. Who will be liable for the finished goods
won't be determined until after Rambus is able prove or
dis-prove the usability of these new products. Just the fact
that RDRAM viability won't be determined for several weeks,
we are presented with greater volatility in DRAM prices and
consequently, MU prices.
