Whether or not 292 is "plenty" remains to be seen; however, it should be obvious that 24 (the number of parties sharing power) is more than plenty!<g> Of your suggestions, #1 is already there in the form of the Anti-defection Act. And #2 makes no sense because a no-confidence vote is just that -- a vote of no confidence. Nothing more. Besides, why should it be the PM alone? Why not his/her Cabinet? Also, #5 is silly, because such an experiment can easily lead to dictatorship of the Indira Gandhi sort. If it works in the USA, it is because of a whole bunch of other reasons. #3, 4 and 6 are all aimed at Sonia Gandhi and deserve no further comment. Apparently, your BJP has no compunctions about sleeping with the likes of Sukh Ram and Chauthala. Otherwise, you might have added that candidates with criminal records ought to be barred. Nor do you have any suggestions that enable people passing no-confidence motions of their own by recalling their representatives. All you want is stability, as if stability by itself would ensure progress.
