Well eventually in 10 or 20 years with HDD and bandwith advances, customize programing from cable companies will become a reality. Think about it. We can program what and when we want to watch, outside of live sports. This could be huge as far as the ramification for syndication and ad revenue. So a programing of what you want to watch and when is definetely the future and should be incorporated into a basic cable service. This is why cable co's need to get their technology down as far as bandwidth both ways. Phone companies unfortunately are stuck with a copper wire that is limited as far a tech scope...Then again, there is always wireless.
