Spinoffs are not always the best thing for the original shareholders,,remember ZD? Although, it would probably be a good opportunity for Mangement to start a new venture and leave existing shareholders holding the bag(baggage).Seems the parent company never reflects the value of the retained % of the spinoff,it doesn't appear as common as it used to,to issue new shares to existing holders as a dividend,,al la the old AT&T days.DD
PS: a spinoff strategy by management would not surprise me a bit..the rich(management) get richer and the existing shareholders get poorer
