Re: don't make Intel mad" ASUS K7M motherboard...

I saw it too. I've got some Athlon systems on order, and I like Asus boards, so I called them today to see if I should respecify the systems to use the K7M, since my requisitions were still wending their way through our procurement process. Asus USA said the boards won't be available in the states until November or December.

You know, it is beginning to look as though Intel really did use threats to restrict the availability of Athlon motherboards. If that is the case, it's both a criminal act, and, since it would involve more than two instances and elements of conspiracy, a good candidate for RICO. Weight of evidence isn't too tough a standard. Perhaps AMD should go ahead and file - at the very least it would provide cover for the suppliers who are afraid of Intel retaliation.

These "I'll make you an offer you can't refuse" tactics are exactly the circumstance for which RICO was created.
