When I spoke with the AMD PR guy two weeks ago, he said AMD plans on being in the chipset market from now on. Apparently, they don't feel comfortable that VIA will continue to support them as much as they have in the past - probably a smart move, considering the IDT and Cyrix acquisitions.

Dean

I think, Mobo situation is getting better. Taking care of Chipsets is more urgent. I don't think Via (especially with their own mprocessor plans) can be as aggressive as AMD in making the chipsets better to exploit Athlon power on the "B" side, main mem bus intf, and PC133/DDR mem technology. I also read somewhere, that there are a couple of startups working on Chipsets for Athlon.
