In that article they're talking about commissions. I think it would be cool if they did away with the 'commission as we know it today and just replaced it with something infitesimal (probably a spelling error) as in this:

Nowadays everyone pays 2 commissions
1) difference between the bid and the ask (MM Commission)
2) broker commission.

I'd like to see someone offer this
1) broker commission folded into the bid/ask difference

it would be something like Add .001 to the difference

but perhaps that is too big considering the number of shares that trade hands daily. maybe .00001 / share would be more reasonable.

After all once the trading is purely electronic (someday), the MM will sort of disappear or become a pure software play. And a computer can trade much quicker, etc... and it doesn't have to have a raise, etc....

I don't know what's the proper 'dollar amount' , but its definately worth mulling over....

PS: escrow finally closed, but have no money in hand yet. with my luck the shares will be expensive again, when the check is in hand, so maybe I'll just buy a hummer or just sit on the cash... don't know. But I'm glad everyone else is having a chance to get rich!
