Hello John: As soon as I saw the release, I was on the phone to RW. IMHO, and STRICTLY IMHO, this was a good move. Let's take a look at what's been happening. Astra & Zeneca merge. Like it or not, VVUS just barely shows up on their radar screens. VVUS is paying a % of sales to AZ to market a product, when in effect, they have very little time to do. Some of the markets VVUS will keep entirely, e.g., Sweden and Great Britain. These countries are both fully launched. Look for increase in earnings down the road. When I asked RW if he was having a good day, he said "yes." I'm optimistic that VVUS will explain the agreement in greater detail at the CC. This opens up a host of opportunities that did not exist prior to today's news. As an aside, management at VVUS obviously has a LOT more confidence than they did six months ago. They have a handle on their costs, and have some very definite goals outlined. As I stated previously, although I still consider VVUS a SPECULATION, IMHO, it's not as speculative as it was six months ago, and especially one year ago. As unfounded as this market is, VVUS could see .50/share or, IMHO, 10.00/share just as easily in a very short period of time. I was encouraged by the volume I witnessed on 10/1 - there's more going on here than meets the eye. One final comment. This is strictly my own opinion. If I were not diversified, I wouldn't be trading this stock. As I've stated previously, I don't consider it one for widows or orphans (or the faint of heart.) In summation, today's announcement increased my optimism. I was glad to see it happen. The conversation I had with AZ in London, and the subsequent conversation with RW only reinforces the opinions expressed above. If nothing else, don't forget that tomorrow if Friday. If I don't post beforehand, to all of you, enjoy your weekend. Regards.
