DELL outpaced HWP and CPQ after the earthquake...

DELL outpace HWP, CPQ after

the earthquake in Taiwan.

HWP and CPQ see shortage in all chips and memory etc. but not DELL.

Just went to PC stores today and find only few HWP and CPQ PCs availabe. Salesperson said it is hard time to find a new shipment. One of the biggest retail store, CompUSA.
Finally, our company decide to buy the PCs from DELL.

No surprise to see how "huge" bargaining power DELL possess. Especially after this earth quake, dell is still able to get steady supply from supplier in Taiwan without paying premium price.
On contrary, HWP really in deep shit from lossing more market share to DELL after this earth quake. Not only the server market but the PC market also. The shortage of PC really give another advantage for dell in this quarter. DELL may see unexpecting rise of orders after the earth quake (come from HWP and CPQ buyers)

As you can see, HWP warned investors for the revenue shortfall but DELL has given "a very confident" speech regarding recent quarter and future. I like his projection of $50 bil sales, grew from $20 bil of recent estimation.

Just another good start for DELL. We may see some analysts upgrade soon.

good luck
