T in my opinion is not boring Armstrong I think is intelligent man who sees future but also share holders.. I think part ot the problem on T is the realization of box changes house calls galore and no longer this telephone company who received funds for connect and little outside of office switching to correct problems.
Excite offered nothing that T couldn't do on it's own and do better job but Athm does and so does UMG.

The IBM partnership with T is to me one superior move. Timing is costly as is tech change, web development and security. That probably is T's concern they are future but trying to act in present tense.
I am have no knowledge of Paul Allen's tax structure but it probably leaves him in a far more flexible position than T.
