Clarify and Vitria Technology Partner to Provide E-Business Solutions
Clarify CommCenter to Bundle Vitria BusinessWare, Streamline Integration to
Key Telecommunications Systems
SAN JOSE, Calif., Oct. 12 /PRNewswire/ -- Clarify Inc. (Nasdaq: CLFY) and Vitria Technology Inc. (Nasdaq: VITR), the leader in e-business infrastructure software, today announced a strategic relationship to provide an end-to-end e-business solution for the telecommunications industry. As a result of this partnership, Clarify becomes the first front office vendor to bundle Vitria BusinessWare in the telecommunications market, allowing companies to more effectively manage both customer relationships and enterprisewide e-business processes. With Clarify CommCenter, companies now have a single source for front office solutions and integration to operations support systems (OSS) such as DSET, Kenan, MetaSolv and Portal, and other solution providers, including PeopleSoft and SAP.

"Virtually every carrier recognizes the value of application integration, whether it's to lower cost, improve service velocity, or enhance the customer experience," said Rob Rich, senior vice president of telecommunications at Yankee Group. "Clarify and Vitria recognize this, as well as the importance of application integration in the future e-business environment. This is a big step forward for their customers."
As the telecom landscape changes rapidly, carriers must integrate disparate applications in order to respond quickly to market changes and also attract and retain loyal customers. Clarify's new offering, CommCenter Connection, enables companies to more easily and seamlessly connect to an array of OSS systems including billing, provisioning, network management and interconnect gateways, as well as home-grown systems, using XML and CORBA industry standards. The result is a single view of all customer information within Clarify, including customer history, billing data, service availability, critical network information and other back office data.
Concentric Benefits from Clarify and Vitria Solution
Concentric Network Corporation (Nasdaq: CNCX) will be one of the first companies to benefit from the partnership between Clarify and Vitria. A leading provider of e-business solutions for small- and medium-sized companies, Concentric is growing more than 80 percent annually, selling a variety of state-of-the-art Internet Protocol services including virtual private networks, hosting and high-speed access products. Concentric uses Clarify to manage the provisioning process for its new and existing business and consumer customers. The company needed a solution to automate provisioning and enable integration between its front and back office systems.
"With Clarify and Vitria, our order management and customer care representatives will have a single, easy-to-use Clarify interface to our back office systems. This will eliminate the delays caused by having to access multiple systems to create a new order, and enable us to provide the level of customer service and support that sets Concentric apart from the competition," said Donn Dobkin, CIO of Concentric. "The Clarify/Vitria solution will automatically send information to and from our provisioning system, so Concentric representatives can focus on helping our customers."
In addition to Concentric, Clarify and Vitria have already integrated their solutions at several sites, including Allegiance Telecom, Digital Microwave and Level 3 Communications. Customers will also benefit from the two companies' relationships with PriceWaterhouseCoopers LLP, the world's largest professional services organization, by improving time to market and ensuring that Clarify and Vitria are central parts of a company's e-business strategy and processes.
"Clarify's proven technology leadership, track record as a great partner and focus on customer success makes them a great fit for Vitria," said JoMei Chang, CEO of Vitria. "With our joint solution, companies can build a unified system for automating customer-facing business processes throughout the entire company. This is an enormous value for service providers today who must deliver a competitive advantage and move faster than the market."
"With Vitria's leadership in e-business automation, Clarify begins to move beyond just back office data integration," said Tony Zingale, president and CEO of Clarify. "Together we allow carriers to extend customer and service information throughout their own organization and those of partners, enabling better processes, leveraging the power of e-business and delivering customer dazzlement."
Clarify will begin offering CommCenter Connection, which includes Vitria BusinessWare, the Clarify connector application and a third-party connector, as an additional part of its CommCenter suite in the fourth quarter of this year, and will also provide customers with first level support for BusinessWare.
