AU, maybe I'm misunderstanding this, but options expire Fri. Oct. 15th. Not tomorrow, but a week from tomorrow.

To AU. Re October options expiry. My CS 12.50 calls carry a 10/16/99 date and expire after the close on Friday the 15th (CSJV). I can either exercise my calls (buy the stock) or sell my calls before the close on Friday, Oct 15th. If I do not notify my broker, he will automatically buy the stock Monday am, Oct 18th, (if in the money) and then promptly sell it at market. That was the last set of rules that was given to me in response to my inquiry at Schwab.
Now, should I buy the stock @ 12.50 or sell my options and use the proceeds to buy more options further out?
I primarily lurk. But have learned and earned a good deal from this thread thanks to Tim and his helpers.
