I see another Aptiva owner has been through this and I'm glad you've got the benefit of his experience....I wasn't sure the Aptiva had on onboard video chipset. It SHOULD disable when you install a video card (with onboard video you'd actually have to buy 2 video cards to run 2 monitors since your onboard chip wouldn't). I helped a friend do what you're doing with an HP desktop and her onboard video disabled just fine. All you can do is try, and be sure you can return the video cards you buy.
