Funk,

Thanks for the post. Just the kind of stuff I was hoping for. Probably too personal for most of us.

<<As far as the hot keys go, they only work if the Lvl II window is selected, this can be an annoyance if you are constantly prowling through names in a 5 minute chart or using a chat window, etc.>>

So that's how to make my hot keys work consistently! Just further proof that RT3 is a poorly conceived compilation of several stand alone programs all duct taped and bailing wired together behind the screen <g> !!

I just printed your post and will probably take it to lunch to read again. I'm looking for real and practical stuff. Not trading platitudes. I thought your contribution was great. I'm sure others will as well.

Your reading choices-- I totally agree. I would probably add one. I think Elder's "Trading for a Living" is a must own. Best one volume (albeit expensive) reference to the whole game I've read. The wizard books are great. In fact, I went through each interview and wrote down main ideas and at the end compile one big list. It's amazing how many are exactly the same but worded slightly different. Reminisciences of a Stock Operator is a true classic. Have read it probably 4 times. Was thinking about reading it again.

Got to run (literally). Thanks for taking the time to respond.

Matt

Another great post not ignored.

Hi funk!
Nice post, (as usual). Thanks.

May I--timorously--suggest a small addition to one of your points that really resonated with me:

learn to stick with the "obvious" trades
= learn to wait for and stick with the "obvious" trades.

(but then, I'm not a "daytrader")

Wonderful thread. Thanks Eric and all.
Best wishes,
Tom
