Ellen, I kindof go by Cramer's Hot list from thestreet.com and he mentioned the idea (a bit too late into it) about the spending and then CNBC brought it up with Art Cashin too (whom I respect). It was a double confirmation to me of something.

I believe the next use is something I don't understand quite yet coming up (especially since it is now cycling in earlier every year) and that is "the January Effect". I would have thought it to be this same syndrome of buying at the first of the next quarter but since it is getting earlier into December now I don't know what "the January Effect" is about then.

Anyone willing to educate me on it would have my appreciation.

Actually I don't know how many original thoughts I have about the market but I do know I attempt to pluck out the ones that seem to be important by those who know after years of experience. I find I have to add this in layers because there is so much. Fallow points. Buying points, etc...

I do know I came up with something I still watch. I call it the "no money no funnee" market wisdom. When we don't have much money in the household it seems we don't have as much fun as when we have more money. And so I am so surprised to see how related that is to the market. When people aren't sending gobs of money into the funds it is not unusual to see stocks generally going down (unless they are piling it up like they sometimes do). But when money is gushing in the market one often sees alot of buying and bullishness......hence the same works for the market...."no money no funnee".....it seems very accurate....:)
