Like any market maker worth anything, Goldman isn't positioning DELL. Goldman is trading DELL. If a market maker at Goldman (specifically the DELL market maker) actually 'loaded up' on DELL stock back in 41-43, he more likely would be reprimanded rather than praised. Goldman wasn't buying DELL for their own account yesterday, they had a large customer buyer.

Why do any of you reply to these rainmakers?

Could you help me out here? I have no idea what this means. A rainmaker to me is an investment banker particularly adept at finding business, and I don't recall any bankers on this thread.
