Well, using simple logic, either the CPI numbers or the hourly wage numbers are being cooked.

They only need cook the housing inflation since that's 40% of the inflation rate. Everyone knows that portion of the survey is in error.

It's a situation, said Provonsil, where individual landlords "say 'the apartment is $1,400 a month, but if you'd like to pay more you can' and where people are offering to pay six months in advance." Provonsil, who moved here after a two-year job in Ecuador, said the experience was "a shock."

"Landlords really don't have to do anything" to get renters, she added. "I've gone to see places that are filthy. They don't even clean them."

OK OK!! Fewer people working, those that remain get overtime? Is that it??? I thought the bond mkt does the work of the fed? that's what all these talking heads tell me. If so, why are we sorried about the fed?
