Here is why PMCS is down: from briefing.com 09:02 ET Hi/fn Fallout : HIFN indicated -34 after falling 30 3/4 yesterday on news of reduced orders from Lucent (LU) and Quantum. Damage spreads to other stocks -- two companies that do business with significant business with Lucent/Ascend will get hammered today - Vitesse Semi (VTSS) is indicated 9 1/4 at 77 and PMC Sierra (PMCS) is indicated down 11 5/8 at 88 after Salomon Smith Barney downgrades both to "outperform".
