RESEARCH ALERT - Oakley raised to buy

NEW YORK, Feb 3 (Reuters) - Deutsche Banc Alex Brown analyst Marcia Aaron said Thursday it raised its rating on sunglasses and accessories maker Oakley Inc. (NYSE:OO - news) to buy from market perform and set the 12-month price target at $11 per share.

Shares were up 1/2 at 6-5/16, off a 52-week high of 9-7/8, up from a low of 5-5/16.

-- said more new products are in pipeline than ever before.

-- said footwear is no longer a drag on earnings and has the potential to be a positive.

-- said the company has a more aggressive marketing program.

-- said internationally, company is poised for continued strong growth.

-- said the ability to execute plans appears to be much stronger than in recent years.
