jd, don't know if your question was directed to me or the thread in general. i have been perplexed by the same seeming paradox. money flow is the difference between value at bid and value at ask and OBV or On Balance Volume is an indicator which sums volume bar by bar. If the price is up for the bar, the volume is added to the running sum; if the bar closes down from the previous bar, the volume for the bar is subtracted from the running sum. on the face of it these are similar indeed and i am still working on understanding the most useful way to incorporate each into my trading "template". i feel sure that there is a critical concept that i have not grasped here even though i still find both indicators useful. i will continue thinking about it and reading relevent material as is my wont. if you figure it out please share the insight and i will do likewise. would welcome input from any technicians versed in this matter....good trading ......robert minshew
