Motorola will be showing is new smart phones at next week's Telecom '99 show in Geneva Switzerland, the company says. The company will preview its Timeport P1088 phone, a dual-band GSM phone based on Java technology. The phone supports Wireless Application protocol and will provide both Web browsing and e-mail for users. The company also will preview the Timeport P7389, another WAP-compliant phone that includes personal information management capabilities. Rob, I will never "start hanging Fowler".......Pull a chart and hold it up against any biometric company. Since you are a "results guy"......I believe Fowler has delivered. He is also the guy who the top government people call. He will give up CEO soon, as he is getting old....but COB will always be Fowler....and should be. I want to see IDX spin off Government Services (ANADAC) and Live Scan.......1/2 in an IPO..(cash to IDX)....1/2 in a stock dividend to IDX shareholders. IDX would raise the cash for Bio-ID......still sell product to ANADAC.....and force the shorts to come up with the share dividend for the spin off. This would screw the shorts big.......cut loose the value of both IDX and ANADAC.......I mean it....it would be a double on the announcement.....and a huge "whack". I would like to see IDX get a little bit more creative......creating value. I was hoping that the IDT guys would have a little bit more of this "spirit"........Moving and shaking type of attitude. If the short number comes in around 1.3 million........IDX should start thinking. Becoming cash rich and focusing on Bio-ID would get rants and raves from the investing community.....IMO. This "keeping the lights on" plan is great......but keeps the hip boots firmly stuck in the mud.....It is time to shake things up. Fowler can do it. bg
