Hutch, You are correct in saying that. About 1 in 50 juniors makes it big, maybe 1 in a 100. Of the failures15-20% are crooked. Most are genuine small exploration companies and every year they get approached by claim stakers with land they have staked and they try to find a good one. They sign an option deal with the stakers that gives them a time period to explore the land in exchange for a fee(cash or shares) before they make a final decision.
It was ever thus. If you look with care at what they have and their past nature you can buy them in the down period. Some are now selling at under 10 cents and they go to 50 cents or more every year or two as they explore. The time to buy is in the slack time. When they explore they run up and you sell out and go to another. If you think they have really made it big you hang in there until they make a mine or sell to a major player. Look at the total share float and the number of options remaining. Avoid those with many millions of shares. A good junior will have 10-25 million shares out. If they get above they they will have a 5:1 or 10:1 reduction and start over.
Look at VPR on the VSE. Something is going onthere. It was 3-4 cents, now it is a lot higher. Looks like a winner. I do not have any, just picked it as an example.
Even crooked scams can be profitable, buy them as the scammers get ready for 3-5 cents and sell when the scam runs. sell early at 40-50 cents, put in bank.

<<Inco, Falconbridge, Cambior, Placer Dome, Barrick Gold, Diamond Fields, TECK CORP all got there starts on the Vancouver Stock Exchange. To avoid them is to avoid the true opportunity to invest when the investing is cheap. >>

I couldn't agree more with you. But the best juniors are now trading on the TSE.
