(SCKTW)(SOK) Socket Communications, Inc. Expects Q3 Reven
B: (SCKTW)(SOK) Socket Communications, Inc. Expects Q3 Revenue of $1.5 Million

NEWARK, Calif., Oct 8, 1999 (BUSINESS WIRE) -- Socket Communications,
Inc. (OTCBB:SCKT)(OTCBB:SCKTW)(PCX:SOK) today reported that it expected
its revenue for the quarter ended September 30, 1999 to be
approximately $1.5 million.

The quarter's revenue did not include revenue from volume shipments of
the Company's new In-Hand Scan Card due to delays caused by the effects
of last month's Taiwanese earthquake on delivery of some of the
components of the Card. The Card should begin shipping this month and
no future delays resulting from the earthquake are anticipated.

Estimated revenue for the quarter is expected to be the Company's
second highest quarterly revenue in its history and up approximately
10% from the same quarter one year ago.

The Company also reported that its net loss for the quarter is expected
to be in the range of $0.03 to $0.04 per share compared to a quarterly
net loss of $0.03 per share one year ago.

The Company said its full third quarter financial results will be
released on October 27, 1999.
