I don't mind repeating it until you get it straight: calling an argument ridiculous is not an argumentum ad hominem. It may not be particularly instructive, but it's not an argumentum ad hominem. Calling a person ridiculous is an argumentum ad hominem if it's given as your sole justification that their argument is false, otherwise it's just an insult. Calling an argument ridiculous isn't really an insult, IMO, although it doesn't refute the argument so has little probative value.
