Darleen,
I have invested in many juniors over the years and there are generally more scams then legitimate explorers out there. I followed the like of cartaway and Fairmile gold as to classic exmaples of the pump and dump artists. I have followed one junior for ten years now.
It has been a legal dispute over the ownership for years. Basically Placer did 4.5 million in drilling on the porperty and then Ontex sued Metalore over the ownership issue. Last year they resolved the dispute Metalore, Ontex, Faymr and Fortune minerals put together an impressive aray of properties within Ontex ONT Alberta. Rumour strongly suggests his company will be listed on Toronto within days and then Nasdaq shortly thereafter. 5 million in treasury quite unique for a junior to have been able to raise that kind of cash in last years gold market environment. During the 10 years of legal wranglings geologists from Falconbridge Nornada Teck Barrick Newmont Placer whom have viewed and bid on the property laid down there best estimates to the courts that subpoenad them. Numbers as high as 10 miilion ounces were submitted under oath. Take that for what it is worth. The stock ran up to 7 dollars back in the late 80's before the courts overturned the decision and seesawed back and forth on each appeal reappeal and higher and higher court decision. Ontex expended 7 million in legal fees on this property to win it back. I presume that the property is definitley worth a lot more then current prices but as with any investment please do your own due diligence.
The only other way to play for more serious returns is too look for the intermediaries like bema. I have always felt like the majors can move up a 100 percent the intermediaries a couple of hundred and a real good junior is exponential.
Anyway best of luck with your investments.
Mark
