I've followed this stock for a decade and this year seems typical. Purchases in October can be usually be sold profitably January to April.

Actually, for the past decade purchases in October (or any month) can be held profitably and never sold...

Looking at past behavior of this stock, there is reasonable
likelihood of previous high of 100 around earnings release
(may be in a week or so) and will fluctuate between 85 - 110
to year end. Then as you state, may be a solid run up in
January to 120 range.

RE: MSFT trading range.

I think you are right. No wonder i had most of my options success with MSFT. It stays in a range for a while before breaking out, keeping the options premiums low.

thanks.
