Goutama. With shorter timelines in their supply chain Dell is hit faster than most, except for those who buy spot. Now if Dell has chosen to buy only spot then they profit from the past decline but get killed when spot hits the roof. IBM, Compaq etc have memory contracts and pay the same price for an assured supply, but when spot is low they pay more and whe spot goes high, like now, they pay less.
Dell may well get killed if they were spot dependent with the thought that memory would stay cheap forever.
