Sure it makes sense! I studied this inside-out and it all pointed towards CGI for IT. Both SBC and Ameritech don't have any strategic alliance with IBM or EDS for that matter.

Monty does have CGI at heart. And when he made a deal with Ameritech for 20% interest in Bell Canada, he made sure he was getting a few things in return. SBC and Ameritech are isolated in their geographic market. Bell is ALL over CANADA. CGI is also all over Canada and mostly on the US East coast (and some offices on the West coast).

Having a unique IT firm for all of them ensures end-to-end services and end-to-end geographic wise!!!!

It keeps getting clearer and clearer all the time. I'm still unsure if they are going to announce it before or after the results.
