Well, from your link I read that the M40 can forward 40 million packets per second. If you assume that there are 50 bytes per packet on average and 8 bits to a byte. Then that translates into 40,000,000 * 50 * 8 = 16 billion bits. That's not terabit. But I distinctly remember Juniper advertising itself as a terabit router company when they were going public. Can anyone else on this thread remember that?

I'll look up some old articles and get back to you, but you may be right.
