I believe the previous poster who also owned an Aptiva said your video is onboard, meaning it's wired into the motherboard. In that case you'll need two cards, because sticking in a video card is going to cause the onboard video to be bypassed, assuming it works right. Hence, your onboard video will be disabled and you need a total of 2 cards to add in. Your friend's Gateway probably needed only one card because it was built with a plug in video card to start with instead of video circuitry wired into the motherboard.
