All I can say is: They got you on their hooks.

Try hard negotiations. I can understand the need for speed, that's why I upgraded. Actually it was cheaper to get rid of the phone, ISP, and get the cable modem. I save money. But their is nothing I can suggest... unless you want to go Satellite?

I really need more speed to run Realtick III. I cannot get a cable modem here either. Any thoughts?

Before cable modems and ADSL became available people were using either ISDN or 2 modems and 2 phone lines to get more speed. ISDN costs about the same as ADSL. 2 modems and 2 phone lines might be the least expensive way to double your download speed. Diamond Multimedia use to sell a dual modem specifically designed for this type of use. But I haven't seen it advertised lately. Perhaps Zeuspaul can help us here . I believe he mention once he bought one.
