I agree that's an interesting question. But some correspondence is being released. Al's willingness to serve might have been caused by his support of his father's campaign for reelection or merely in anticipation of his own political future. Funny that his father was defeated for reelection and was out of office when he was sent to VN. He should really get the dates out.
