DD, have you been reading some of the year to date and third quarter data that is available this weekend? Generally speaking, only natural resource and high tech funds have made a profit during the third quarter and predictions are for an uglier fourth quarter.Bring it on!!!!! Janus' high tech fund, btw, outperformed it's peer group by a 10 to 1 ratio.

John Murphy's "Getting Technical" article presents some interesting perspectives on several sectors. Interesting to note that the stock market is ahead of the street price fluctuations for interest rates, commodities and other products and services. From Murphy's article:

<Because moves in oil stocks often foreshadow turns in the price of oil itself, the recent 20% drop in the Philadelphia Stock Exchange's Oil Service Index (OSX) suggests that the previous runup in oil prices is due for a breather. (A sharp drop in natural gas prices hints at the same thing.) The drop in the OSX has brought it back to test support along its spring lows and its 200-day moving average.>
