Yes, 50 years ago, if the bloody Nehru dynasty had done something to tackle the problems that existed then, perhaps they could have been tackled. Instead, they compounded all the problems in India, and to such a state, that now it looks that nothing can be done about them. And you say I am scapegoating them? Well, you can never get over your fan-like admiration for this family, can you? Scapegoating implies that they are not in any responsible for this mess India is in. That they are innocent by-standers. I say crucify them! The entire ruddy family! How can anyone have even an iota of sympathy for them? From your posts, you seem to think that BJP and allies are responsible for this sorry state of afairs! And they have been in power for, what, a very long 13 months! Yeah, they must be kicked out for causing all this population explosion, all this pollution, all this poverty, the Kashmir mess, the corruption, the babudom, the overflowing garbage cans (thanks to the Nehru-dynasty, these BJP chaps couldn't even find a clean spot to dance around! :-)) I am sorry, but I ain't buying it. I think any alternative, howsoever short, is better than Congress. All your fears of BJP+allies is purely hypothetical, visceral. No facts to sustain it. Just some imagined fears. Give them some time and space. Say 5 years (as Vajpayee asks). And if at the end of that period, they suck, throw them out. But folks like you want to kill the baby even before it walks, just because you dont like the color of the baby's skin, or dont like the first gaga that it mouths? Oh, come on. If you really want to come across as rational, then let an alternative exist for a while. Dont oppose for the sake of opposing.

These things have a cultural context that simply cannot be erased by merely displacing a few symbols. Well, that's scapegoating. Not that the Nehru/Gandhi dynasty is lily-white. Far from it. Dipy U old Blue Eyes: U insulted just now that Sonia is not Lily white. Ok, that does not bother me. But the Italians will take an offence. U better lay low for some time.<g> You have appended a derogatory cultural tag on all the Indians, 85% of whom ar Hindus, who are your favorites. You enumerated the following: Indifferent BURROcrats, crappy roads, polluted air, water, etc. Go to any country and you will find the same thing. Did U ever get stuck in a traffic jam in a tunnel in US? Have U ever heard of diarrheal diseases & death among infants and elderly in the west from drinking bacteria-contaminated water? Did U ever have flat tires from metal debris on highways? Have U ever seen flood victims in US. Have you seen flooded cities, & counties in US? You don't laugh at these things or speak disparagingly. Next time I am going to move 25 illegal aliens into your household and make sure that you feed & cloth them and provide toilet facilities with one bath room only. Then you will know the size of the problem we have in India. A man without empathy is a BURROcrat.
