Tom: Interesting note for the thread. My portfolio managers in Pasadena researched the Value Line Geometric index. This is an evenly weighted index more closely related to what Mr. Jones typically does with his portfolo. It is lower than it was in June 1997.

I have been posting charts on the MDA Web Site and now on occasion my I-35 Road Kill Trading Systems page. One of the semi-regular charts has been the VGY. I have called attention to it several times as of late on the MDA thread.

But I must say your data does NOT jive with the two different data providers and two different charting software packages I use. The VGY (Value Line Geometric Index) is far from being at a low point much less near the levels of June 97. However, it certainly has been in a bear market since April of last year.

For your inspection I am posting a link to my latest "end of day" VGY Daily Semi-log Chart. I purposely panned it back to allow for more than the usual time line window.
