Michael. It's very clear that Nihil was playing with the limits of language, something he is very good at. Taken purely at face value, in the hands of someone with less mastery, I'd agree that it was scurrilous. In the hands of an adept, it's a sendup. As he told Joan, he's been taking lessons from Cicero. There is an art to invective, it's like the art of making war, or the art of hand-to-hand combat. I'd laugh at Nihil's post if it were aimed at me, I assure you. Lots of his posts are, and I always laugh.
