EXACTLY!

What WILL happen... You will go to websites with HUMANS that are experts...perhaps something like Suite101.com and talk to others about what brands are good and where to purchase them. Then you will be offered ways to pool together with other people looking for similar products and get a CostCo type volume discount but you won't have to leave your chair in front of your PC. (I am personally betting heavy on this vision with human capital).

My guess is there will be large showrooms with studs and pretty ladies to show you products but much of the real buying will be over the PC... Perhaps you will get to see products demo'd by factory reps at the mega stores just as they now give free samples of the fat ladden food to entice you to make a purchase?

Myself, I'll pay UPS or USPS their $10 fee to ship a Hoover to my home to avoid a 30 minute wait in line at Costco.... but I bet the prices could be even lower than Costco.

BTW, I believe Davis veto'd the Bill so Costco and WalMart will continue to grow in CA.
