Peter,

So very well spoken, Thank you for expressing the thoughts of many of us.

Now I wonder if QCharts will do anything about it.

Hal

"all"?

I can see your point for purely technical traders. Personally their quality of data is fine for my needs.

P.S. Nice site;)

Peter,

Thanks for your excellent reply regarding data quality. I can see that my focus is more on intraday action on a few issues than on buy/sell signals generated from TA. For my purposes, the data is fine, but I understand your point and hope that QC addresses the data integrity issue you have pointed out.

I agree, accuracy and timeliness of data is imperative for a quote service. I'd still choose QC over eSignal for my purposes, but you've made it very clear what the differences are and people need to select the product which fits their needs best. If QC can improve the data, there's no question.

Peter, I think from past posts, you are very serious in your studies. While your observations aren't questioned, I wonder what of the millions of variables is causing the problem. I have never concerned myself with daily charting values but only the real time aspects.

Are you looking at dailies or min charts?
What is your standard for indicator values?
What program sets standard and performs system test?
What RT data are you comparing it against?

Clean Data is important. 100% clean can never be determined. If you are doing a trade based on last minutes or hours of trading do you believe the errors are so great as to effect trades? Too many of the detractors that all programs have jump on your findings without looking at the issue in perspective. They will never test or recognize the limits of testing.

I never have seen a concern for errors in the Qcharts data that I use.

Peter,

While I agree that there have been data problems with QCharts, I'm concerned about your relationship to a QCharts competitor - Window On Wallstreet (WOW).

For instance, take your "Peter's Window on Wall$treet" web site - geocities.com. (Nice site.) Your multi-page site has hundreds of code algorithms for WOW trading systems and indicators. It also features WOW how-to tips and system testing ideas. Further, most pages feature an advertising link to the Window On Wallstreet web site!

Also you stated, "Sooner or later QCharts will have to listen to its user base or they will all migrate to other vendors."

This implies that QCharts management doesn't listen to it's user base. Their history of direct contact with users and the large number of user-suggested modifications in QCharts indicates that they listen carefully to users.

What vendor do would you suggest that QCharts users move to? Window On Wallstreet?

In the future, it you have a strong relationship to a particular vendor, please indicate that in your posts so that we can evaluate the information appropriately.

Regards,

Dan.
