From the street vendor I was able to get 67.4 rupees per dollar but in the hotel the exchange rate was 66. Life here is much like the rest of Asia excluding China. Things are cheap and life is robust and exciting! Truly awesome to experience. I wonder sometimes why I don't just do this all the time, then I come to my senses. I had the mistaken impression this was a high and perhaps cool city, but it is more like the tropical cities I am more familiar with. Too many stories to begin to tell here. Its Saturday evening now and we are on our own to find supper. After the austerity in Tibet this is like a paradise. Regards to all, have to go off now.
