The Korean Show....... globalsources.com Korea Electronics Show (KES) '99 Digital A/V equipment set for launching Korea's consumer electronics manufacturers are unveiling their most recent innovations, mostly digital video products. LG Electronics will showcase a more extensive lineup than the previous year's exhibits, said assistant PR manager, Myra Oh. On display will be a 64-inch digital projection TV, PDP TVs, a digital LCD projector, some TFT -LCD TVs, and several models of flat TVs, ranging from 17, 21, 25, 29, 32 to 34 inches. LG Electronics will also present a digital VCR, a DVD player and an MP3 player. Daewoo Electronics Co. Ltd is participating under a new image and a new slogan, Digital Life with Daewoo. Its exhibits will comprise the PDP SUMMUS, a 42-inch flat PDP TV, and the DQT-2000 digital time lapse recorder. The firm will also display a 15.1-inch TFT-LCD monitor, a 64-inch projection TV, a 32-inch HDTV and its150-inch TMA projector prototype. According to Samsung Electronics Co. Ltd's Yoon-Jung Choi from the PR department, the firm will introduce DVD players, digital cameras and camcoders, desktop PCs, notebook PCs, digital TVs, PDPs, TFT-LCD monitors and MP3 players. Samsung Electro-Mechanics Co. Ltd will be showcasing, said Jeong-Kyu Choi, the associate for PR, a high-speed digital USB PC camera, various MLCCs, a digital satellite receiver and some wireless LAN cards. Hung Chang Products Co. Ltd is one of the small- and medium-sized companies attending the show. A 2.4GHz A/V transmitter/receiver, a multicarrier amplifier and a digital satellite receiver will be among the firm's displays. Unitech Electronics Co. Ltd will launch an MP3 player, the Rome & Juli, which also functions as a mini cassette player. Daeyoung Corp. Co. Ltd, maker of remote controls and home automation systems, will exhibit its HA-RF home automation system, which is developed to control light and electronic equipment via an intelligence switch and an intelligent socket unit. HB Telecom Co. Ltd will show its digital set-top boxes and internal DVB receiver cards, while High Power Antenna will unveil some new products, including the HPPT-1909-40 and the HWPT-2406 directional patch antennas. Exhibits are organized by hall. The Pacific Hall on the first floor of the convention center will hold the multimedia and home appliances exhibit. The Atlantic Hall on the third floor will host the information and communications, the industrial electronics and the parts and components booths.
