RobertM a/k/a Popeye: Sometimes it's good to go back to the beginning when you begin juggling too many plates and lose some money and your head, (not always your best friend) starts beating up on you. I know...it happens to me and it happens to every trader at times and any trader who says it doesn't is a prevaricator of the first magnitude. A suggestion; Jenna's earning's plays are designed to take advantage of "anticipatory upswings" prior to earnings release dates. But of more importance, Jenna scans for stocks that are showing rapid earnings growth quarter over quarter. I checked a list she posted a while ago and out of 30 or 40 earning's plays, I think all but one or two showed EPS that exceeded expectations. And the stocks did well. Perhaps you should begin trading one or two of Jenna's Earning's Plays. Make some money, regain some confidence. Maybe it's time to Keep it Simple for a while, trade just one or two stocks, in moderate amounts.(It's my sense that many'Gemmers are not utilizing Jenna's Earnings Plays, which is unfortunate because these are "solid" companies). I've done this, not often enough...and it's helped a lot. (Lee)
