This week's BusinessWeek has a comment on the PlayStation II
and while it's an impressive machine, Web & internet sevices are medoicre at best...

PC's are here to stay, inertia in the market where millions of people grew up with them, you will not get them to change over for some server-enabled web-centric "black box"

You will get some new marginal, lower end customers, but Pros and amateurs , forget it...

Look at the palm pilot . why it has so successfull, compared to Ellison's NC stupidities.... It LEVERAGES the PC, and is part of the Intel-MicroSoft Value chain...

Handhelds, Palms, and other set-top devices will be successfull IF they leverage the PC platform everywhere.

Take care and Welcome to our NEW members...
Jean

I know its not discontinous, but check out the specs on this baby.

It will work on the kids TV, cutting down on clutter in thier room, comes with linux which they can't foul up (and saves $85)

And comes with a free ISP from AT&T, just $19.95 a month for 3 years, computer ISP and all.

I would buy one but AT&T doesn't have a pop in my town.

This company has had a terrible time executing, but they or someone will get this going.

Watch iToaster the movie, it's really cute.
