Microsoft is the best-run company in the world. I have to side with Bridge Player when he nominates non-tech companies for the best managed companies. The corollary for investors is that the nature of high-tech gorillas is such that management can screw up for quite awhile without significantly hurting their ability to accomplish the corporate mission. On the other hand, I wonder if the compression of "Internet time" makes execution more vital than in the past. --Mike Buckley
